Welcome to the Shockwave Experiments
page. Here you'll find some of my experimental
code-driven interactive works. You will need
the Shockwave plugin to play with these pieces,
avaliable HERE.
Special notes and controls are listed below the
items.
All projects will launch in a pop up window. Have fun,
and do send any feedback or problems to me RW.
Don't forget to click inside the movies when they load,
this enables
the arrow-key navigation to work.

TOTAL 04 CLICK THUMBNAILS TO LAUNCH
RANDOM
REMIX TOY "BEAT BREAKER"
>> LAUNCH
<<
Uses patterns and semi-random rules to sequence fragments
of
Audio. In this version I've used parts of a Squarepusher
track.
DATABENT STRUCTURE 02
Use mouse and arrow keys to explore this 3D
structure. You may
need to click on the
window to give the movie focus
first.
This object was created using the 'search and
replace' function of
a hex editor to intentionally
cause structural 'damage' to the
model's data. The sound in this piece is made by playing
the mesh
as a sound file, affecting the results
and then feeding 100 small
chunks of these sounds into Director. The code
then chooses a
sound to play based on your location
in the 3D space and some
semi-random rules to control pitch and looping.
Click left-mouse inside the model to kick up a 3D
dust storm!
3D SEQUENCER TEST B1
8 blocks emitting 8 different
sound loops in a 3D space. Your
distance to each block affects the
volume. You must first click on
the movie to give it focus. Then you can
use the arrow keys and
mouse to explore the sounds
in realtime. You can move
the
'magnetic boxes' around by holding down the left mouse
over a box
and then dragging it to another box - when you release
left mouse
the box will be repositioned. Note : You can't
see the box while you
are dragging it - that is why this is only a
beta test. You will be able
to see where you are putting the box once
you have dragged it
over another for it to 'snap' to.
I'm sure you'll figure it out. :-)
